ANG Command Chief visits Ohio ANG units

MANSFIELD LAHM ANGB, Ohio - U.S. Air Force Command Chief Master Sgt. Joshu Moore, command chief of the Air National Guard, visited the 179th Cyberspace Wing in Mansfield, Ohio, during a trip to state units Sept. 11, 2026. During his visit, Moore spoke with Airmen across the wing to answer questions and encourage members to continue developing into more lethal warfighters. “It’s up to us to maintain a culture that builds a warrior mindset,” Moore said. “We need to have a mentality of, let’s roll up our sleeves, get to work and figure this out, and we’re only going to get there by making sure we’re here for each other and holding everyone accountable.” Moore emphasized that building this warrior mindset relies heavily on mutual support within the ranks. He explained that establishing clear accountability and fostering a collaborative work ethic across all levels are essential to ensuring unit readiness. Throughout the visit, Moore reminded Airmen of their ability to remain on the cutting edge of military capabilities and warned against isolating skills into silos of excellence. “All of you have just gone through a transition that was unimaginable for the Air Guard 10 years ago,” Moore said. “We’ve made sure that we’ve kept our professionalism high and because of that, this wing was entrusted to lead the way.” Acknowledging the wing’s recent shift to a cyberspace mission, Moore commended the Airmen for their adaptability. He noted that their high level of professionalism directly earned the trust of leadership to lead the Air National Guard into a new era of digital warfare. Additionally, Moore highlighted the need for Guardsmen to remain flexible to ensure airpower and cyber capabilities are executed as efficiently as possible. As the threat environment rapidly evolves, the wing's agility will serve as a foundational pillar for joint military operations across the total force. During this transitional period of its mission, the 179th Cyberspace Wing remains committed to maintaining a steadfast focus on wartime readiness, modernization and recapitalization, and the continued pursuit of innovation and adaptability. The Wing will empower Airmen at every level, foster a learning mindset, and capitalize on opportunities presented by dynamic mission changes. These changes require Airmen to embrace retraining, develop new capabilities, and contribute to the redesign and modernization of supporting infrastructure. Through these efforts, the 179th Cyberspace Wing will remain prepared, agile, and resilient while building the capabilities necessary to meet evolving mission demands.
